GREAT AUDIOBOOKS I ENJOYED IN APRIL

Contemporary Fiction

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, and the ferocious pull of motherhood – and the danger of believing that following the rules can avert disaster. I will be honest I blew through this audiobook to be in the know for Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon’s Hulu series. I gave the audiobook 4-stars wanted it to be 5-stars but the audiobook started out slow.

Romance

The Wedding Date (The Wedding Date, #1) by Jasmine Guillory was a great listen. A groomsman and his last-minute guest, who he met on the elevator while checking into the hotel of the wedding location, are about to find out if a fake date can go the distance in this fun and flirty novel. I gave this super cute romance 5-stars! A nice escape during these serious times.

Memoir

Educated by Tara Westover is a title I saw all over Goodreads and Pinterest so I put it on my library service wait-list. I waited FOREVER for the audiobook and WOW it was worth the wait! Tara the author was born in Idaho to a father opposed to public education, she never attended school. She spent her days working in her father's junkyard or stewing herbs for her mother. Tara followed her thirst for knowledge and it took her to gain a doctorate from Harvard. Like the the very popular, Where the Crawdads Sing, Educated was an against all odds story that can uplift anyone. An easy 5-stars, no question this emotional memoir was epic!

Thriller

Being the second wife can be murder . . . Dead to Her by Sarah Pinborough was a twisty psychological thriller about a savvy second wife who will do almost anything to come out on top. The story-line was unexpected and I love a glamorous lifestyle. 5-stars and I am a new Sarah Pinborough fan!
